SUMMARY:Festive matinee
DESCRIPTION:"Mozart again at last!" is the theme of this year's chamber music matinees, and for once there are even three Mozarts on the programme. The most famous of them all, Wolfgang Amadeus, will be performing the Adagio and Rondo KV 617 with special instrumentation alongside a flute quartet: two wind instruments, two strings plus glass harmonica - someone had to come up with that idea first. Father Leopold contributes a trio entitled "Frosch-Parthia", an entertaining work in which the pastoral idyll of the second movement is disturbed by a tritone croak. And finally, there is the Rondo in E minor by the youngest son Franz Xaver, who was born in 1791, the year of Mozart's death, spent his entire life in his father's shadow - and yet still found his own sound with the flute melodies in this late piece.\n\nLeopold Mozart «Frosch-Parthia»\n\nWolfgang Amadeus Mozart Flötenquartett Nr. 1 D-Dur KV 285\n\nFranz Xaver Wolfgang Mozart Rondo e-Moll (Arr. für Flöte und Streichtrio)\n\nWolfgang Amadeus Mozart Adagio und Rondo c-Moll KV 617
