DESCRIPTION:At the two-day festival in the Münsterhof, the musicians of the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich also join forces with other ensembles. For example, with the Zurich Jazz Orchestra (ZJO), which has developed into an internationally sought-after big band since it was founded exactly thirty years ago. in 2021, the US trombonist and composer Ed Partyka took over as artistic director. He now leads the ZJO, which is reinforced by 17 jazz-savvy musicians from the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, in a one-hour set for which he has arranged works by Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, George Russell and other greats of jazz history.
