On the road
We have been travelling in Europe and around the world for decades. We have played in over 100 cities in more than 30 countries.
Concerts in foreign cities and concert halls are a challenge, because the conditions for playing together are different in every location. Travelling together, listening to each other in different acoustics, meeting new audiences: All of this enriches us and deepens our view of the music. As a result, we always return to our audiences in Zurich full of inspiration.
When we have success elsewhere, it boosts our self-confidence, which in turn inspires us in our performances at home.
Paavo Järvi
We will be on the road again in the 2026/27 season. Even before the start of the Zurich season, we will be guests in Wiesbaden, Prague and Bonn. The second round of our Mahler residency will follow in November at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden; the programme includes Symphonies Nos. 5 and 6, which the orchestra will then perform under the direction of Paavo Järvi at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg and the Konzerthaus in Vienna.
