If you were to compile a hit parade of cello concertos, Robert Schumann's would definitely be on the podium. Our focus artist Sol Gabetta has also had this work in her repertoire for a long time, and in 2018 she recorded it on CD - demonstrating just how many keys she has at her disposal for this music. She makes Schumann's music sound cantabile and lively, generous and in love with detail, simple and refined at the same time. Now, under the direction of Paavo Järvi, she will once again show just how many voices and moods there are in this work.
