Chamber music for children: Kunterwunderbunt

This season's chamber music concerts for children are a colourful affair.

The musicians of the Tonhalle-Orchester Zurich are once again touring Zurich’s community centres this season with their chamber music series ‘Kunterwunderbunt’. The music for the series was composed especially for the occasion by Rodolphe Schacher and is woven into an exciting story. At the heart of this story is a girl called Yvi, who takes us on a journey of discovery into the world of sounds, colours and timbres.

The concerts take place every Sunday at 11 am in various community centres across the city of Zurich. Tickets for these concerts are available exclusively via the linked website of the respective community centre.

In July, all the instruments and colours that Yvi has encountered will come together at the Tonhalle Zürich for the grand finale concert, ‘Festival of Colours’. Whilst conductor Julia Kurzydlak directs the chamber orchestra from an island in the centre of the concert hall, the children sit on floor cushions amongst the musicians and the conductor, watching the performance up close. Everyone sings and dances together – and even the precious gold and silver join in the celebrations. Three cheers for colour and diversity!

For children aged 4 and over
