Catamorphosis by Anna Thorvaldsdottir
In this concert recording, the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich performs the Swiss premiere of "Catamorphosis" by our Creative Chair Anna Thorvaldsdottir.
The inspiration for "CATAMORPHOSIS" was the fragile relationship we have with our planet. The aura of the piece is characterised by the circling vortex of emotions and the intensity that comes with the fact that if things don't change, it will be too late.
There is a danger of complete destruction - a catastrophe. At the heart of the work is a strong sense of urgency, multiplied by the shift and pull between different polar forces: power and fragility, hope and despair, preservation and destruction.
