"classic meets art" at the Fondation Beyeler
For the first time, "classic meets art" is taking place at the Fondation Beyeler in Riehen.
Like many artists of his time, Henri Matisse was impressed and influenced by the French poet Charles Baudelaire. Debussy, Fauré and John Corigliano, who is best known for his film music, were also inspired by his texts.
Now the flautist Sabine Poyé Morel, the violist Gilad Karni and the harpist Sarah Verrue, together with the internationally acclaimed soprano Elsa Benoit, present works by these three composers at the Fondation Beyeler. Introductions to the art and music also contribute to this summit meeting between colours and sounds.
