One Country, Two Worlds of Sound

"I think the music shows everything that's going on in my head," says composer Farzia Fallah. What she thematises in her works often has something to do with her home country: Farzia Fallah was born in Tehran in 1980 and trained there as an engineer and musician. In her late twenties, she moved to Germany to continue her studies. "Traces of a Burning Mass" was written in 2022 as her first orchestral work; it is now receiving its Swiss premiere. André Valade will also conduct Ligeti's "Lontano", a modern classic, as well as works by Ivan Fedele and Ari Ben-Shabtai, which speak a completely different tonal language.
